Cape Girardeau woman pleads guilty to filing false tax returns

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KRCU) - A Cape Girardeau woman pled guilty to filing false income tax returns Tuesday in the U.S. District Court in St. Louis.

Patricia Stahly understated taxes owned in 2005 and 2006 for her husband’s medical practice. Her husband, Dr. Randall Stahlay, operated Neurological Consultants of Cape.

Stahly understated her taxes in 2005 and 2006 by over 175 thousand dollars.

Each count carries a maximum penalty of three years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000.
