CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KRCU) - The world came together Saturday evening at Southeast’s University Center for the Carpe Diem Extravaganza.
The international event features cuisine from across the world, a DJ, henna, a flamenco dancer from St. Louis, and a band comprised of international students at Southeast.
Over 400 people attended.
Organizer Yasir Ansari is an MBA student from India. He says the Carpe Diem Extravaganza is a chance to try and see new things and meet people from across the globe.
“That is what the aim of the event it. No discrimination. Everyone is welcome. Whatever age you are, wherever you live… if you want to come, just come. Have fun. The more the merrier. The more different people, the more fun it is,” Ansari said.
The event was sponsored by Residence Life and Dining, the President’s Office, the Office of the Dean of Students, and the Sanskriti Club.
